Boston George selects a playlist of big electronic tracks ahead of the weekend

HAILING from South Yorkshire, DJ and music producer Boston George aka Mathew Hardy is prolific and his music hypnotic, melodic and full of energy.

A new name to many, Boston George is very much the result of the lockdown era and a very productive two years locked in the studio.

He has already found his way onto tastemaker labels such as Cubism and Elastic Dimension and interest from major labels is growing as the young artist finds support from many leading DJs and the likes of BBC Introducing, inspired by the likes of fellow Yorkshireman Hot Since 82.

Boston George will be streaming on Mixcloud LIVE  from saʊnd club in Maidstone tonight for a three- hour DJ set from 8pm. To tune in head from 9pm tonight.

He’s curated a playlist of inspirational music for us ahead of the live stream tonight which you can listen to right now below including music from Maceo Plex, Hot Since 82, Franky Wah and many more.

Boston George - The One And Only

One of my own productions very much inspired by the knee deep sound, one of the earlier releases of my career a track I've always been fond of.

Maceo Plex & Gabriel Ananda - Solitary Daze

Been a huge fan of Maceo Plex since he hit my radar in the earlier 2010's when he gigged at Plug Sheffield - During lockdown I listened to his Cercle event set on the Hudson river on repeat. This track holds a description of emotions for me throughout the pandemic.

Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Cristoph Remix)

Cristoph being one of my favourite current producers out there right now did an amazing rendition of this classic, defiantly one for the playlist for the flight to Ibiza this year!

 Jhonsson - Lost In Mogana

Another from the Knee Deep family catalogue and a personal friend of mine Jhonsson's use of rhythmic pianos and deep subs bring out a really chilled summer terrace party vibe.

Hot Since 82 - Buggin' (feat. Jem Cooke)

The haunting vocals from Jem Cooke and amazing production from the deep Don himself Hot Since 82 stuck with me for years as a lasting Ibiza sound in my mind - a track of which I have just remixed and sent over for his remix.

Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (James Holden Remix)

This relatively old diamond I only came across through a producer friends 'Imprey' some time in the last year, it took me only 2 plays to fall in love with the eccentric production that is James Holden!

Bonobo - Otomo (feat. O’Flynn)

I just come across this piece very recently, mind melting sound provides visions of Africa when thought about. Deep with a break beat edge.

Franky Wah - Dopa La Vita

New release from the almighty Franky Wah on john Digweed's Bedrock Records. Franky has been taking over the music scene across the globe recently, this track gives good reason why.

Pryda - Juletider

I first heard this master piece from the king himself when it got dropped I was around 18 at the time, just coming out of my indie/rock roots i heard my older brother blasting it on repeating from the other side of his bedroom door, he had the good set up.
