Big Brother host Emma Willis evicts The Crown cast from their own set during filming for new series

THE cast of royal drama The Crown were evicted from their own set during filming for the new series - by Big Brother host Emma Willis.

The multi-million pound blockbuster at Elstree Studios was derailed by the sound of the Channel 5 show, which drowned out the lines of A-listers Claire Foy and Matt Smith who play The Queen and Prince Philip.

It is yet to be announce which acts will be performing on the hour long special but Emma will host

The two sets backed directly on to each other, which proved disastrous when The Crown would film after dark and Big Brother was staging eviction nights.

A TV insider said: "It was so frustrating because you'd have the lead characters trying to deliver these epic lines and you couldn't hear them.

"Instead all you got was host Emma Willis shouting, 'You have been evicted from the Big Brother house' followed by these endless waves of cheering crowds."

The second series of the Netflix show, which starts on December 8, is the most dramatic yet.

And shock scenes see Prince Philip appear to cheat on The Queen in the 1950s.

The drama also sees the Prime Minister, Sir Anthony Eden, struggle to cope with Britain going to war in the Suez Crisis.

But when the stars were making The Crown earlier this year, the leading actors just couldn't compete with their noisy neighbours.

The TV insider added: "There was just nothing they could do but roll their eyes and go back to their trailers before rescheduling the filming.
"Fortunately they could see the funny side of this epic historical drama being stalled by a reality TV show."
