Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley to appear on Strictly Come Dancing this year — despite her ‘two left feet’

FORMER Corrie star Catherine Tyldesley is cobbling together a deal to appear on Strictly — despite admitting she has two left feet.
The ex-Rovers Return resident, who left the soap last year, plans to make a big comeback on the Beeb dance show.
She is in advanced talks with its producers, The Sun can reveal — and has even had a pairing test with a pro dancer.
Just a few days ago she said: “I adore Strictly — it’s one of my favourite ever shows. I would genuinely love to learn to dance, because I can’t dance.”
On Wednesday night a telly source said: “Catherine loves the glitz and glamour of the show.
Producers think she’ll be a great signing because of her strong fan following and her bubbly personality. They can see her going far in the competition.”
Strictly chiefs have already tried out Catherine, 35, with a pro of a similar height to gauge which dancer she would be best suited to.
The actress, who played glamourpuss Eva Price from 2011, is currently filming new sitcom Scarborough.
She lives in Manchester with her personal trainer husband Tom Pitford and their son Alfie, four.
If she goes on Strictly, she will follow in the footsteps of Corrie stars including Georgia May Foote, Tina O’Brien and Jimi Mistry.
It comes after she turned down a chance to go on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity. . . because she believes Strictly will be better for her acting career.
Our source said: “Catherine was inundated with reality TV opportunities after Corrie but held out for Strictly. She’s unfazed by the Strictly curse as her marriage is super-strong.”
