She fell in love with a Greek Adonis over 30 years ago but when poor Lizzie went back to find her hunk she got the shock of her life
LIZZIE Cundy couldn’t hide her shock after discovering her hunky teenage Greek sweetheart was completely unrecognisable.
During tonight’s episode of Our Shirley Valentine Summer, Lizzie 50, went to find the man who stole her heart over 30 years ago.
But after tracking him down, Lizzie realised time hadn’t been kind to Vangellis.
The pair enjoyed a holiday romance when Lizzie was a teenager.
She was swept off her feet by the Greek Adonis, who she described as muscular with long, dark hair.
But faced with the new rather portly Vangellis, Lizzie admitted he wasn’t as she remembered.
Speaking to the camera, Lizzie said: “He’s clearly enjoyed Greek food because he’s put on a lot of weight”.
However as the pair caught up and learnt about one another’s families, Lizzie admitted she wished she could have found a man like him.
Divorced Lizzie added: “I’ve always gone for people who’re good looking and it’s not worked out.
“If I could find a reliable man like him I would be very happy.”
Lizzie, who split from Jason Cundy in 2012, has struggled to find the right man since becoming single.
Although the stunning mum-of-two is catch, she signed up to ITV’s Shirley Valentine to try and find love.
Lizzie said of her marriage breakdown: “I've never been on my own and it's very frightening.
“I feel so betrayed.
“I've had panic attacks and I feel like my right arm has been cut off.”
