Who’s on The One Show tonight? Imelda Staunton and Celia Imrie appear as Karen Blackett discusses women getting the vote

FANS of The One Show will be thrilled that two of Britain's most respected actresses are appearing on tonight's show, in the form of Imelda Staunton and Celia Imrie.

And that's not all, as Karen Blackett OBE will be on hand to discuss the significance of women getting the vote 100 years on – here's what you need to know about tonight's guests.

Who's on The One Show tonight?

Imelda Staunton

Imelda was born in 1956 in Archway in London to working-class Irish immigrant parents.

She grew up as an only child to a hairdresser mother and labourer father, and attended a convent school in north London's Highgate.

Some of her best known films include Shakespeare In Love in 1998, Vera Drake in 2004, Pride in 2014 and Maleficent in 2014.

She also memorably was the voice of Bunty in Chicken Run in 2000, and she starred alongside her husband in Cranford in 2007.

One of her best known roles is playing Professor Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix in 2007 and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows in 2010.

Celia Imrie

Celia is an Olivier award-winning actress who's most famous for her roles in Bridget Jones's Diary, Calendar Girls, and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

She was born in Guilford and attended Guildford High School, as well as the Guildford School of Acting.

In the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? Celia discovered that she is a descendent of Henry Carey, a suspected illigitimate child of Henry VIII.

Karen Blackett OBE

Karen is one of the advertising world's leading women. She was named WPP's first UK country manager which makes her the most important agency leader in the UK.

Blackett is also the chairwoman of MediaCom UK and now works with 17,000 staff in spanning dozens of agencies across WPP's £2bn-a-year operation.

The ad star was named the "most admired" business leader in the UK ad industry in a survey of agencies for Campaign’s 2017 School Reports.

What time is The One Show on and who is presenting?

You can tune in to BBC One at 7pm on weeknights to watch the show.

Today’s episode will last half an hour and is being hosted by the regular duo of Matt Baker and Alex Jones.

Each night the presenters mix interviews with an array of celebrity guests with an eclectic mix of topics ranging from current affairs to pop culture.

It is then available on demand on the BBC iPlayer.

Can I be in The One Show audience?

Unfortunately, the One Show is not listed among the BBC shows you can apply for tickets for.

So viewers will just have to get their fix from their sofas.

However, to be in with a chance of watching programmes from A Question of Sport to Just a Minute .

How long has The One Show been running?

The magazine style show has been running for over a decade. The first episode was aired on August 14 2006.

From 2007 to 2010 it was hosted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, before Alex Jones and Jason Manford took the helm, later being replaced by Matt Baker.

Chris Evans oversaw the Friday night hour-long episodes from 2010 to 2015.

The likes of Dermot O’Leary, Phil Tufnell, Zoe Ball and Fearne Cotton are among the guest presenters who have stood in for the regular duos.
