LOVE Island’s Marcel told Gabby he loved her tonight, days after shocking the nation by kissing Shannen.
As the boys returned to the villa from Casa Amor, the former Blazin’ Squad member came clean about snogging another girl during a challenge.
“You knew I had to kiss someone,” he says, referring to the Raunchy Race challenge, “I did hesitate and that’s why we lost.”
But despite audiences being left distraught by Marcel’s actions in the secret villa, Gabby was quite breezy about it all and the pair were elated to be back together.
The next day in an intimate conversation, Marcel appeared to let an “I love you” accidentally-on-purpose slip out.
He told Gabby, “You’re perfect for me,” to which she returned the compliment.
Thrilled, Marcel replied: “Am I really? Ah, I love you… ahem.”
However, he didn’t exactly get the response he was hoping for.
“You keep saying that,” said Gabby.
Trying to downplay it, Marcel reasoned: “I like you a lot, init.”
“I don’t want it to just be thrown about,” explained Gabby.
“Obviously I do love you as a person. I just think when people throw it around it doesn’t mean as much. You don’t love me yet.”
Later in the garden Gabby was still feeling unsettled about Marcel’s confession.
She told Amber: To say I love you to someone I feel that there should be a big build up to it and I don’t want it to be a throwaway thing.
“I don’t need him to say it to me to know. I’m not there yet to be able to say it out loud, ‘I love you.’”
Later in the Beach Hut, Amber – who also told Kem she loved him, had her own theory.
She said: “I genuinely think Gabby does love Marcel, she’s just not ready to say it to him yet.”
