Chris Brown’s UK tour thrown into doubt after superstar arrested at five-star Manchester hotel over nightclub attack

R&B SUPERSTAR Chris Brown's UK tour has been thrown into doubt after the star was arrested earlier today.
The 36-year-old American musician was set to kick off his 20-year anniversary tour next month.
Brown was arrested by Met Police Detectives just after 2am at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester after flying into the city on a private jet yesterday afternoon.
He was held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, in February 2023.
The Sun's Brand and Culture expert, Nick Ede, has suggested the incident casts doubt over the R&B superstar's upcoming tour.
He said: "The incident happened in 2023 but with this new publicity overshadowing his tour, his team may feel that they have to cancel.
"This would be a massive blow for his fans and also to Brown himself.
"The gigs he is playing are some of his biggest ever including the Tottenham Hotspur stadium for two nights to over 62,000 people each night."
The two-time Grammy winner was planning to jet off around the world for his Breezy Bowl XX Tour - a celebration of his 20 year career.
This includes two nights at the Co-Op Live stadium in Manchester before performances in Cardiff, London, Birmingham and Glasgow in June.
Ede added: "If he is convicted of grievous bodily harm then he will have to cancel his show but this arrest is a huge blow to his career and his personal brand PR.
"His team will be weighing up what to do and how this will affect his fans and his income if he has to cancel.
"They will be fighting to make the tour continue."
The Sun became aware of Brown's presence after he touched down at Manchester Airport yesterday afternoon and asked police whether the singer was under arrest.
then travelled to Manchester where they arrested Brown at the Lowry.
He was taken into custody and is thought to have been taken to a local police station for questioning.
The Met said: ‘’A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
‘’He has been taken into custody where he remains.
"The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.
‘’The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.’’
Chris Brown announced his 20-year-anniversary tour in March 2025.
