Lily Allen slams US doctors for ‘driving her crazy’ amid mental health battle

Lily Allen has blamed US doctors for driving her “f***ing crazy.
She sensationally revealed they gave her such strong mental health medication that she had to check into a facility.

The Smile singer, who has been sober since 2019, said she had a difficult few months, but defended leaving her daughters to stay in a US treatment centre.
Speaking for the first time since leaving it, Lily said: “The medication that I was on last year sent me f***ing crazy. So I’ve had to change. I’ve had to come off of that medication and start a new one.
“And that was a big part of where things became really unmanageable for me.
“Before I came to America, my friend Olivia said to me, ‘Just be really careful of the doctors over there and the prescriptions that they prescribe you for things’.

“But I really think I was done a bit of a number on by one of the antidepressants I got put on and it really did not work for me.
"There were other things going on too. But yes, the pills weren’t helping.”
Lily who separated from her husband, Stranger Things actor David Harbour, at the end of 2024, made the comments on her Miss Me podcast.
She said: “I know people think that I hate my children. I really don’t. I absolutely adore my children.

“It was a really big decision to have to leave them for a few weeks to go and focus on myself. But ultimately, it was for them.
“I don’t want them to ever feel like they have to prop me up. Like, you know, none of this is their fault and it’s my job to support them and make them feel safe and secure.

“And I just don’t think I was able to do that because of the sort of emotional turmoil I was in at the time.
“I’m definitely in a stronger, stronger place.”

The diva has been announced as the superstar booking for the annual LGBTQ+ celebration, which is one of the biggest Pride events in the UK.

I learned of the appearance earlier this week after being told that negotiations had been going on for months.
Mariah had originally been booked to perform at the massive event in 2020, although it was cancelled due to Covid.
But the All I Want For Christmas Is You singer will finally be able to showcase her trademark whistle tones when she headlines on Saturday, August 2 at Preston Park.
Tickets are already on sale for the event, which is bound to be a sell-out, and adds even more star power to the UK’s ultimate summer of music.
Beyonce, Oasis, Coldplay, Black Sabbath, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Lana Del Rey and many more will all be playing shows over the next six months.
One thing’s for sure, with all these incredible live gigs, we are going to be skint by September.

Madonna’s show last spring broke the all-time attendance record with a 1.6millon crowd.
