AUSTIN Armacost has revealed he plans to go into therapy after his time in CBB brought back terrible memories of his split from his ex-husband.
The reality star, who was voted out of the show on Friday by his housemates in a cruel eviction twist, has been battling insecurities ever since his marriage broke down, shortly after his 2015 stint on the Channel 5 show.
And while he has gone on to find happiness with new boyfriend Darren, he still struggles to trust anyone and going back on CBB brought all his doubts and anxieties flooding back.
Speaking exclusively to the Sun Online, 28-year-old Austin admitted: “Going back into that house flooded me with bad memories, whether they were conscious or subconscious.
“I knew my boyfriend wasn’t cheating on me, but just being there in that same house, those same cameras, the same tasks, the same voices of Big Brother, it scared me.
“I just thought, there is a possibility that there could be a repeat [of what happened before].
“I was with my ex for nearly a decade and now that’s come to an end. Sometimes you don’t even realise you’re considering situations that aren’t realistic.
“You go to the darkest place possible in that house, and anxiety kicks in. Because you have no contact, you can’t get that comfort until you come out. And that’s why I was so close to walking out. I needed to know what was going on.
“They [the producers] hold that information back because that’s what creates the drama, the almost psychosis in someone’s mind, that makes for good television.”
Austin was left heartbroken shortly after his stint on CBB in 2015 when he split from Jake, saying at the time they had “become two different people".
“It was a punch in the stomach", he admitted.
The TV star admitted his return to the house earlier this month just brought those memories back.

“Darren and I have been through situations like getting tested together so we no longer use condoms, situations where we’re both adult men. And I wouldn’t call my ex-husband a man,” Austin admitted.
The star has now bravely revealed he’s considering therapy to battle his issues.
“There are several issues that I still have to work on. And analyse and probably get some therapy for,” Austin said.
“I am 100% considering therapy. I need help dealing with some of the issues that led me to behave the way that I behave.”
Addressing his past battle with alcohol, Austin added: “I don’t turn to alcohol for relief or escapism but when you’re in that house that’s the one major thing you look forward to. We’re just sat there, this time, practically miserable all day.”
Austin has now revealed his partner Darren has helped him overcome a lot of his demons, and praised him as the “best person he’s ever met”.
“Coming out this time to a man who truly does love me and missed me every second I was away from him was a feeling I hadn’t felt before,” Austin gushed.
“He’s massively helped me with issues such as anxiety, body issues, insecurities, but we’re very open about my past relationship with Jake because it was very public. He’s a wonderful man, he compliments me every day, he makes me feel a million pounds, he’s the best guy I’ve ever met.”
