The BBC One drama's big names including, Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar were spotted filming the intense scenes.

Locals were treated to some dramatic moments as the show's crew pulled off an amazing stunt by flipping over a large white van.

The scene involved a gunman in a balaclava standing in front of a black SUV while taking aim at approaching police officers.

Another dramatic moment sees the gunman leading away a security guard who has her hands over her heads as he points a gun at her.

In between takes the cast were sure to keep their face masks on, including Compston whose tartan mask was a nod to his Scottish heritage.

The star must've been handing them out as Adrian Dunbar who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings, was sporting the same mask.

Shooting resumed this month on the acclaimed series after the coronavirus lockdown put a pause on production.

The hundreds of cast and crew could be seen wearing masks as they made sure to try and prevent the transmission of the coronavirus.

The BBC hit is due back on the small screen in 2021.

Line Of Duty's writer, Jed Mercurio, previously revealed stuntmen had been working on nail-biting "van rolls" to feature in the next instalment.

Images released ahead of the show see a white transit van toppled completely on its side during a high-speed chase, with the windscreen left completely smashed.

It was speeding through Belfast city centre, accompanied by police, but boxed in by corrupt cops before veering off course.

Those in the vehicle were armed with guns while, in a separate incident, a group of balaclava-clad men were seen surrounding a black Range Rover.

It remains to be seen if everyone escapes unhurt, especially actress Shalom Brune-Franklin, whose character is new to the series.
