Peaky Blinders creator announces new ‘famous figure from history’ will star in season 6 – as fans beg for Al Capone crossover

PEAKY Blinders has been riffing off of British history ever since it hit the small screen.
The celebrated drama, headed up by Cillian Murphy, tracks the run-up to World War 2 and the cut-throat Birmingham drugs market.
Its story lines have riffed off of controversial political figures, such as nefarious fascist Oswald Mosley, who found himself at odds with protagonist Tommy Shelby.
Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill also appeared in the season five finale.
However, many fans are hopeful that the next series will see the inclusions of infamous gangster Al Capone, following Shelby’s deal with Luca Changretta’s Italian gang to take business stateside.
Adding fuel to the fire, show creator Steven Knight took to Reddit to take questions from fans in an Ask Me Anything session.
One fan immediately asked: “Will we see other well known historian figures like Churchill, Mosley, etc. on the show?
“I remember Al Capone being name dropped by Tommy on the series 4 finale and I was wondering if we get to see him on screen or if any other famous figures will get referenced on the series later on?”
Knight didn’t rule out the possibility, but seemed to suggest that other prominent figures from the crime world would make their debut when the drama returns.
“I’m not [planning] on heading West necessarily, but if we come across famous figures who are involved in the businesses Tommy is involved in, we will certainly use them,” he replied.

“In series six, there will be a figure from history who may surprise people,” he added.
This sparked a series of predictions, with some speculating that the monstrous Adolf Hitler could make an appearance, given current antagonist Mosley’s involvement with the rise of fascism in the 1930s.
The fan furore comes after Murphy revealed Shelby’s PTSD would become “deeper and more dangerous” as the show progresses.
