Halifax Town star Jamie, 28, added: "My journey was a lot shorter than Danica's obviously.

"But I came in here to find a connection and I think I've done that."

Only five couples remain in the ITV2 show, with the winners crowned on Monday, August 1.

After their fellow islanders' departure, the remaining couples woke up to the sound of babies crying and were each assigned a new arrival to look after.

The challenge provided amusing scenes as Islanders were tasked to look after them all day in a real test of their relationships.

Discovering the lifelike dolls, Tasha Ghouri moaned: "This is my nightmare, I've actually woken up to a nightmare."

Gemma Owen added: "My ears are f****** ringing already!"

Dami Hope, who is partnered up with Indiyah Pollack, said: "I feel like I'm attached. I feel like my experience here has just got 10 times better."

Later in the episode the girls were treated to a mother's day out and they discussed their futures with their partners.

Ekin-Su Culculoglu revealed she feels ready for children of her own with partner Davide, telling the girls: "I think I'm ready guys."

She added: "To see him [Davide] as a dad, please god, just give me some babies now!"

Despite the heartwarming scenes, fans accused the producers of dulling down the show ahead of Monday's final and were annoyed they didn't get to see a glimpse of Thursday's show.

One said: "No tomorrow night after this dry episode??"

Another moaned: "What an excruciatingly boring episode."

As a third echoed: "Can’t lie. This episode is boring. I’m going to bed."

Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
