Peaky Blinders creator reveals ‘supernatural element’ in season 6 and teases Tommy Shelby being ‘cursed’

PEAKY Blinders creator Steven Knight confirms a ''supernatural element' in season 6 and the prospect of Tommy Shelby being 'cursed'.
The writer revealed he will be tapping into a different aspect of the show in an interview with the official Peaky Blinders website.
Steven, 61, also addressed what may happen to star Tommy (Cillian Murphy) and teased whether the characters' lives have already been planned out.
He said: "I also like the supernatural element. 'Is Tommy cursed?' In other words, is everything predestined, are lives already mapped out? Do you have free will or not?
"Tommy sometimes feels that he doesn't because it seems that everything is destined to stop him or move him in a particular direction. It's the same with the whole family."
Lastly he added: "I explore that more in the next series."
The creator also described Shelby and his family as "effective" despite the lack of a father figure or male role model in their lives.
Steven explained: "It's like in westerns, Tommy and Arthur and Polly together win. They win against the odds, against stronger opposition they win, and that's a thing people admire."
Knight teased Tommy Shelby might've won an epic showdown against rival Oswald Mosley, played by The Hunger Games' Sam Claflin in series 5 with the simple statement of: "you'll see."
Ahead of the new series, Peaky Blinders' director Antony Bryne has shared the first spoilers for season six - with Tommy Shelby facing death after "unresolved" breakdown.
