I’ve been to every lido in the UK – here are my two favourite pools for kid-free swims and they’re even heated

A LIDO expert has named the best outdoor pools to visit in the UK without fighting families for space.
Authors and lido enthusiasts Emma Pusill and Janet Wilkinson have spent the last 20 years visiting every lido in the UK.
The duo documented their love and knowledge of the 120 best outdoor pools to visit in the UK in their book, the .
It's a good time to go for a dip in a lido, with a wave of outdoor pools undergoing renovations or reopening following decades-long closures.
For example, Broomhill Lido in Ipswich is slated to reopen next year, while Hilsea Lido is set to open again later this year.
There are plenty of lidos to visit in the UK, including two outdoor pools that are ideal for a kid-free swim.
Speaking exclusively to Sun Online Travel, Emma said: "If you really don't want to see children, I would say London Fields in Hackney because it always has lanes."
"Sometimes people do turn up there with kids and end up looking a bit disappointed because there isn't anywhere to jump in.
"It's set up as a training pool, so much more suited for adults who want to swim."
Located in Hackney, Central London, London Fields is a 50m Olympic-sized outdoor heated swimming pool.
Lane swimming operates all day at the outdoor pool, with lessons taking place for both adults and kids.
Other onsite facilities include a cafe, a large sundeck and a sunbathing area.
Emma also recommends Sea Lanes in Brighton as another place to take a kid-free dip.
She said: "Similarly, Sea Lanes in Brighton is very much like London Fields.
"It's a great spot but it markets itself as a training pool, making it ideal for adults who just want to swim.
"While it does run a few family sessions, parents turning up with kids would probably be disappointed."
Sea Lanes opened to the public in 2023, instantly becoming a hit with tourists and locals alike.
The six-lane, 50m swimming pool is located just a stone's throw from the shore.
It was built on an old derelict site in Kemptown and is open to the public on a pay-per-swim basis.
The pool is heated, meaning Brits can enjoy a dip even when the weather isn't the warmest.
Several partner businesses also operate onsite, including places to eat and drink and to do other relaxing activities, like yoga.
Emma and Janet have previously revealed four UK lidos Brits can visit in one weekend.
And here are the best outdoor pools to visit in the UK, according to the Lido experts.
Kent's The Strand Lido in Gillingham has been compared to Greece because of its bright blue and white design.
And a lido in London is said to have similar vibes to that of Tenerife.
