SOMEONE has paid nearly £7,000 to be "breastfed" by an anime YouTube star.

The experience will take place in virtual reality, and is part of a crowdfunding campaign to improve the busty cartoon character's design.

Virtual YouTuber – known by fans as 'Note Mama' – has more than 33,000 subscribers, despite just being an anime cartoon.

Most of her content is live-streamed video, covering topics like video gaming, ASMR and anime.

Her creators have launched a crowd-funding campaign to create a more convincing 3D model.

And the top "funding tier" is a bizarre "experience of virtual feeding from Note Mama" – with bottled breast milk.

The experience is priced at 1million yen (~£6,850) and was limited to one customer – who has already paid up.

The buyer, who remains anonymous, has earned the "right to receive virtual nursing by VR from Note Mama" in a virtual reality app.

"In VR space, it is [an] experience-based event where you can receive breastfeeding from Note Mama using [a] 'virtual feeding bottle'," Note Mama's creators say.

Perhaps more bizarrely, you'll have to attend a launch event to enjoy the prize.

The event is set to take place in Tokyo's Shibuya district, where you'll be breastfed in virtual reality surrounded by legions of adoring Note Mama fans.

There's also the option to enjoy the experience at home, but it's not guaranteed – and you'll need to buy an experience VR rig to boot.

"If you have a HTC Vive and compatible PC, you may be able to conduct a trial session remotely, but it depends on the environment and you will need to consult separately," creators say.

There are cheaper tiers of funding that get you more normal rewards, like keychains and alarm clocks.

According to the campaign creators, the funding will be used "for development costs, item creation costs, and delivery costs of [the] 3D conversion of Note Mama".

"There are also plans for stretch goals according to the amount of support gathered."

Note Mama's creators say that 2D is too limited, and that 3D conversion is necessary to "communicate with everyone".
