The gadget is expected to be released in September, which might seem like an eternity away for many Apple lovers.

Luckily, there are a lot of rumours to slake tech fans' appetites - and now even some images which are an educated guess about what the phone will look like.

The pics are the work of design student Imran Taylor from Manila in the Philippines.

He said his drawings "bring back the classic iPhone 4 design language, with glass on the front and back constructed with a NEW liquid metal frame".

The images show an iPhone with curved edges and a distinctive body made from two glass panels and a frame made from "liquid metal".

Apple is rumoured to be planning to call its next smartphone the iPhone X in a huge break from its usual naming traditions.
Up until now, every new iPhone has been given a reasonably logical name, although Apple did slip the odd 's' after some model numbers.

But a new piece of iGossip has suggested the fruity firm will break from tradition in the name of its new iPhone to mark the fact that Steve Jobs announced the first Apple smartphone 10 years ago.

In a briefing note seen by Tech Radar, analyst Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company said his supply chain sources has predicated a name change for the new mobile.

"It’s a name that makes some sense, simultaneously highlighting the phone’s high status and giving a nod to it being the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, with X, of course, being the Roman numeral for 10," the website wrote.

Apple is rumoured to be planning to blast its biggest fans with LASER BEAMS when they buy the next iPhone 8.

But whilst this sound scary, the James Bond-esque technology may actually allow them to open up their mobile phone using their face.

An unconfirmed Apple rumour has suggested the upcoming device will use a laser to scan users' features.

This could allow them to use their own lovely face to access the gadget, rather than having to scan a fingerprint or enter a password.

"Features appear to include some form of facial/gesture recognition supported by a new laser sensor and an infrared sensor mounted near the front-facing camera and, as expected, should also finally include wireless charging," wrote Apple analyst Timothy Arcuri,

Earlier this month, iGossips also claimed the iPhone 8 won't come with a Lightning port OR a jack for earphones.

The news is sure to infuriate Apple fans who are already smarting from Apple's decision to get rid of the headphone socket in the iPhone 7.
