The Open 2016: Recovering alcoholic John Daly sports boozy trousers while smoking a cigarette and signing autographs at Royal Troon

JOHN DALY might be golf's most famous boozer - but you won't have to look far to see that he's got drink on the brain.

Ahead of The Open at Royal Troon, Daly has been signing autographs for kids while smoking a cigarette, sporting some jazzy cocktail-inspired trousers and hi-viz yellow shoes.

EVER fancied making the famous cocktail named after golfer John Daly? SunSport has you covered...

Ingredients:
- 45ml Sweet Tea Vodka
- 15ml Cointreau
- 45ml Cold English Breakfast Tea
- 90ml Lemonade
- 1 slice of lemon for garnish
- Ice cubes

Method:
1. Fill the glass with ice.
2. Pour vodka and Cointreau then the iced tea and lemonade.
3. Pop the lemon slice on for garnish.

Daly also went on a session with Andrew 'Beef' Johnson - and managed to drink the big-eating Brit into such a state he lay by the pool in his underwear.

And today he has been spotted around the Scottish golf course wearing busy cocktail-patterned trousers.

The 50-year-old has a reputation as a man who can seriously handle a lot of booze.

He was arrested outside a Hooters in Wilson Salem, Massachusetts in 2008 after drinking 18 beers, four Jagerbombs and six tequila shots.

Daly, who is a Hooters ambassador, also has a lifetime of free beer from the bar-restaurant chain.

He later claimed his divorce from his ex-wife Sherrie Miller threw him into a hole and he wanted to drink.

So it would be no surprise to golf fans to see 'Wild Thing' smoking a ciggy and sporting a pair of cocktail trousers to jazz up the dreich Scottish weather.

Daly told Sky Sports: "It is just awesome to be a past champion of what I think is the best Major in the world.

"It is always a buzz, it doesn't matter what course it is.

"It's fun, you deal with the elements and see what happens. As professionals, we don't mind the wind and we don't mind the rain, but when you combine the two of them it gets a little tough!

"I'm hitting it alright but I have been struggling with the putter a little bit.

"I will just enjoy this moment because not a lot of people get a chance to do this."
