Juan Mata scraps weekly Manchester United blog after devastating Liverpool loss

The Spanish midfielder was left with nothing to say after defeat at Anfield which saw him limited to five minutes from the bench

JUAN MATA sent a direct and honest message to his Manchester United fans after their 3-1 loss to Liverpool.

Mata has had a weekly blog on his website since April 2014 which he updates on Mondays with his thoughts on the weekend’s action.

However, after United were beaten at Anfield on Sunday, Mata was left with literally nothing to say.

He wrote: “I don’t have a blog post to share with you today. I imagine that you all understand. Thank you, as always.”

Whiel Mata is remaining tight-lipped, some United supporters have made it clear they feel the blame lies with Jose Mourinho and have called for him to be sacked today.

Fans took to Twitter to stand up for the man who was brought to Old Trafford from Chelsea in 2014 for a then club record of £37.1million.

Liverpool are predicted to get record Premier League points tally this season… but Man City may still finish top

One said: “Manchester United have successfully broken Juan Mata.”

Another said: “Juan Mata is usually a positive figure and even he now is struggling to spin this. I feel for our creative players under Mourinho.”

One added: “Just like all of us, Juan Mata has no idea what to say anymore. There’s only so many times you can say things will get better before you realise they won’t.

“The most positive player we have is broken. Says it all really.”

Mata has made 15 appearances in the league this season, however, he has started just seven of those games.

The creative midfielder has also often been shifted out wide, something Mata has previously said frustrates him.

Further frustration would have come after he started against Fulham two weeks ago where United picked up their first league win in four matches.

Mata scored and set up Romelu Lukaku as United cruised to a 4-1 victory - but his efforts would only see him benched one week later against Liverpool.

The Spaniard came on with just five minutes remaining, leaving him no time to affect the game or the result.

Jose Mourinho’s decision not to reward Mata for his performance the week before is probably the only thing the 30-year-old could have addressed in his blog.

However, like most Old Trafford supporters, Mata has been left with nothing to say.
