SEVILLA and Boca Juniors met for the annual ‘Antonio Puerta Trophy’ friendly last night.
The Spanish midfielder tragically died during a match against Malaga on August 28, 2007.
And Sevilla pay tribute to Puerta with a friendly in his honour every year.

The match started with the Sanchez-Pizjuan faithful holding scarves banners and cheering for their former player, as his image was hung in the centre circle.
Carlos Tevez gave a masterclass with a stunning lob and 94th-minute winner after Lucian Vietto had levelled for the hosts two minutes from time.
Fans were treated to a great spectacle as the two sides shared seven goals.
Dario Benedetto’s opened for the visitors was cancelled out by Steven N’Zonzi.

But goals from Cristian Pavon and Tevez put Boca in control.
However, Timothee Kolodziejczak pulled one back on six minutes from time, before Vietto equalised.

The night belonged to Puerta, however, who sadly passed away after a series of heart attacks at the age of just 22.
He was a player of some promise who had reportedly attracted interest from United, Arsenal and Real Madrid after starring in Sevilla’s back-to-back Uefa Cup wins in 2005 and 2006.
The Spanish side paid tribute to Puerta in the 2007 Uefa Super as their players — along with those of opponents, AC Milan, wore shirts which bore his name.
And Sergio Ramos wore a jersey in his honour as won Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup with Spain.
