But after missing that cut-off point, Sancho has teamed up with the Dortmund squad to head off for pre-season.

And according to the , United may go for Coman in their hunt for an alternative.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his attack and a classy winger is high on his list of priorities.

Coman, therefore, would fit the bill - although the report adds Bayern Munich would rather sell than loan him out.

The Frenchman, 24, has fallen out of favour at the Allianz Arena, struggling to hold down a starting spot between his injury lay-offs this term.

Leroy Sane's £55million transfer from Manchester City this summer is only going to make competition for places stronger and reduce his game time under Hans-Dieter Flick.

And if Coman did head to Old Trafford, United fans would no doubt get very excited.

That is because the winger has won league titles in each of the last eight years at Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

But United's No1 priority is still Sancho - and they will be desperate a deal can be resurrected even though the Three Lions star is back with Dortmund.

They are understood to see the Dortmund's deadline as meaningless with the transfer window open until October 5.

On Saturday SunSport reported meeting the eye-watering £108m price tag for Sancho might lead to Solskjaer's side potentially blowing their entire transfer kitty on one player.

It also emerged Sancho will be offered a new £173,000-a-week deal at Dortmund if he stays.
