Reported by , the alarm was activated as soon as the criminals entered the property in the town of Mairena del Alijarafe.

It alerted a nearby civil guard who instantly made his way to the property but the thieves had already fled.

Sources close to the player claim that nothing substantial had been taken because they scarpered once the alarm was set off.

But police have yet to make any arrests as investigations into the crime continue.

It is not the first time a footballer has been the victim of burglary while playing in a match.

Last year former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay had his £1.3million home raided while he was in action for Lyon away at Nice.

Burglars are said to have climbed the garage to reach a terrace overlooking a room, and climbed in through an open window.

And in February Liverpool ace Sadio Mane was also broken into while playing in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

A number of items including watches, mobile phones and car keys were stolen.
