Disgraced rugby agent Gordon Hood who’s on sex-offenders register STILL on RFU accredited list

Hood, who previously represented Scotland and Lions stars Finn Russell and Stuart Hogg, faces ruin after being caught by a paedophile hunter

A DISGRACED rugby union agent placed on the sex-offenders register is still on the RFU’s accredited list.

Gordon Hood’s name appears, despite being caught sexting a person he believed was a girl of 15.

SunSport understands his biggest clients, Scotland and Lions stars Finn Russell and Stuart Hogg — who will join Exeter Chiefs next season — have both DITCHED the 39-year-old law graduate.

But the RFU’s website — where two of their core values are “respect” and “discipline” — list him as an accredited agent.

There are calls to strike him off but an RFU spokeswoman would only confirm: “We are aware of the issue and are looking very closely at it.”

Hood runs The Rugby Partnership agency, which claims to be “founded on integrity”.

But he faces ruin after being caught talking to a girl he thought was called Mary Dundonald, originally on Tinder, before using Facebook.

However, it was in fact a paedophile hunter called Jim McGuigan on the other end of the messages, posing as a 15-year-old child.

A trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Hood asked for pictures and said: "Is your body quite developed?" and "Have you had sex yet?"

Very quickly into it, I thought I better make sure he knows what age I’m supposed to be and I told him I was 15, but he carried on speaking.

McGuigan said: "Very quickly into it, I thought I better make sure he knows what age I’m supposed to be and I told him I was 15, but he carried on speaking.

"Eventually, I said to him he wasn’t speaking to a 15-year-old and that I was going to report him to the police.

"He shut everything down on social media that I was using to contact him and at that point I phoned the police.”

Hood pleaded guilty to “intentionally and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, or of humiliating, distressing or alarming a person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl, sending messages”.

He was given an eight-month community order, with the condition that he is supervised.

After the trial, Hood said: “I deeply regret my actions.”

It is unknown what action the RFU will take and last night his agency website appeared to remove their client list.

SunSport contacted Hood for a comment.
