THE final day of the Premier League is here, and the action is UNDERWAY around the Premier League!

Manchester City took the first step towards the Champions League, with Gundogan scoring an acrobatic effort to put Guardiola's side ahead.

Newcastle, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are all level.

The top seven are guaranteed to be playing European football next season, but there is a scenario that eighth could also join, which Brighton and Brentford are battling for.

Elsewhere, Trent Alexander-Arnold was on the bench in his final Liverpool appearance, as the side will lift the Premier League trophy against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace TODAY.

  • From SunSport's Dave Kidd at the City Ground

There's been precious little goalmouth action here at the City Ground so far - but plenty of abuse for Gary Neville - banned  by Nottingham Forest for having had the temerity to criticise their owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Ref Anthony Taylor also getting plenty of stick.

And Forest fans were delighted to see striker Taiwo Awoniyi looking well on the pitch before kick-off after his serious health scare.

  • Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

    23. Chelsea having to dig in here with a couple of late blocks before a looping cross is nodded into a dangerous area by Wood.

Tosin inside his six-yard box has to nod it and he's there again to head the corner well clear under pressure.

  • Fulham 0-1 Man City

    21. Manchester City have dominated from the off at Craven Cottage, and now have a deserved lead.

Matheus Nunes escapes from Jorge Cuenca on the right, and when his cross-shot is deflected up by Bernd Leno, Ilkay Gundogan reacts with a smart overhead kick.

It ricochets in off the underside off the crossbar at the Hammersmith End, and Pep Guardiola's side are closing in on a Champions League place.

  • Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

    21. Anthony Taylor the current enemy.

Colwill with a challenge a couple of minutes ago which could easily have been a yellow card, only outmatched by Caicedo clattering through the back of Gibbs-White on halfway.

He was a mile away from the ball and Taylor keeps his cards in his pockets.....

  • Newcastle 0-0 Everton

21 - Alcaraz over a promising free-kick for the Toffees.

The 30-yard effort is gobbled up by Pope.

  • City in front!

  • Now then...

Spurs' goal against Brighton, coupled with Bryan Mbeumo's 20th league goal of the season, means Brentford jump AHEAD of Brighton in the race for 8th spot!

That could be pivotal depending on other results and how Chelsea do in the Conference League final in midweek!

  • Latest updates – Liverpool trail, Solanke hands Spurs lead from spot

Fresh off their Europa League success in midweek, Spurs continue the good mood as Sloanke converts from the spot after Tel was brought down by Wieffer.

    • Wolves 0-0 Brentford
    • Southampton 0-0 Arsenal
    • Newcastle 0-0 Everton
    • Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace
    • Tottenham 1-0 Brighton
  • Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    17. Here's a stat for the Expected Goals lovers.

Manchester United have accumulated exactly 1 xG so far, already their joint-best in the first half of a Premier League game under Ruben Amorim.

It's less good news for Noussair Mazraoui though, who has just pulled a hamstring while closing down Ian Maatsen.

The Moroccan is going to be replaced early doors by Diogo Dalot.

  • Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

    14. Forest keen to continue putting crosses into the Chelsea box and have the territory at the moment.

The latest throw-in won is again taken short as they look to put the pressure on Sanchez in the Chelsea goal.

The Blues rearguard standing firm at the minute but they've not got their attacking players in it since the opening seconds.

  • Guard of honour for the champions

Ahead of kick-off, Crystal Palace handed the soon-to-be crowned champions a respectful guard of honour.

  • Newcastle 0-0 Everton

13 - In search for the go-ahead goal, Schär sends a sweeping cross field pass towards Gordon's path which earns a corner off Young.

The resulting delivery - which is worked short - is underwhelming.

  • Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

    10. Twice now Forest have won a throw-in deep inside Chelsea's half and lined up a long one.

Twice it's been taken short to Elange to instead cross with his left foot.

The first headed away under no pressure by Cucurella, the second flying over everyone and out for a goal kick.

  • Latest updates - Liverpool TRAIL to Sarr opener

A surprise lead is taken at Anfield as Ismaïla Sarr latches onto a thorough ball by Tyrik Mitchell and slots the visitors into the lead.

    • Wolves 0-0 Brentford
    • Southampton 0-0 Arsenal
    • Newcastle 0-0 Everton
    • Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace
    • Tottenham 0-0 Brighton
  • Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    10. Manchester United have blitzed Aston Villa in this opening ten minutes, and have done everything apart from score.

The home fans will be asking where this United team was on Wednesday - or at any other game this season?

  • From Martin Blackburn at Old Trafford

What a contrast between these two teams.

United are on their knees after their Europa League disaster and face an uncomfortable summer – no matter what happens today.

The fans have arrived in mutinous mood so it promises to be a tricky afternoon for the club with protests outside the game.

There is no sign of Alejandro Garnacho amid reports he will be allowed to leave this summer – while Andre Onana is rested as he is heading on a promotional tour straight after the game.

Villa’s fans are here to celebrate the fact they have qualified for Europe again – but need a win to book a return to the Champions League.

  • Race for Europe

Approaching 10 minutes ago across the division and the Champions League and European places are....unchanged!

Yet to see our opening goal of the final day but that'll soon change!

  • Newcastle 0-0 Everton

6 - Sunderland through and through, Jordan Pickford, getting his early complimentaries from the Newcastle crowd.

They don't like him and vice versa.

  • Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    4. It's being reported that Emiliano Martinez is playing his last game for Aston Villa today.

Well, if that is the case, he may well be leaving on a high.

The Argentine has just made two stops to deny Mason Mount, the first a brilliant instinctive block with his right leg.

The second was a more routine gather although Mount will be disappointed he didn't work the goalkeeper more with a glancing header.

  • Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

    4. Big early chance for Forest which they can't convert!

Gibbs-White gets free down the left and drives to the edge of the box before cutting inside, only to have it pinched off his toe by a sliding Reece James.

Great recovery from the Blues man but he can only prod to Elanga, though he can't control it to get a shot away and Chelsea get back to clear it.

  • Newcastle 0-0 Everton

3 - Hosts already on the front-foot as wing-back Murphy gets high and wide into the Everton half.

An early free-kick is floated in by Murphy after a set by Tonali but cleared away by Mykolenko for a corner.

Said corner is dealt with eventually.

  • Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

    2. Chelsea with all the ball in the opening 90 seconds and bag the first corner of the game.

Taken short before Palmer whips it into the back post but Wood is back helping out and heads it to safety.

  • Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    2. There's no doubt as to where Manchester United fans are placing the blame for their awful season.

The action at Old Trafford has begun with the home fans making their feelings towards the Glazer family known, with reports of more protests to come throughout the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim has confirmed that he will be addressing the United supporters following the full time whistle.
