Dyche, 53, was handed his marching orders with Everton in the midsts of yet another relegation battle.
The Toffees are sat in 16th position, just two places and one point above the relegation zone.
Everton have managed just three league wins all season against Ipswich Town, Crystal Palace and Wolves with just 15 goals scored in 19 matches - only rock-bottom Southampton have netted less.
With wins, goals and creativity in desperately short supply, Everton's new owners, Friedkin Group, decided to part ways with Dyche just hours before their FA Cup clash against Peterborough.
A statement from the club's official website said: "Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men’s First Team Manager with immediate effect.
"Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the Club. The process to appoint a new manager is under way and an update will be provided in due course.
"Under-18s Head Coach Leighton Baines and Club Captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis."
The writing may well have been on the wall following Saturday's defeat to Bournemouth, in which Everton failed to register a single shot on target.
Under Dyche, Everton also have the division's lowest expected goals (xG) rate and the lowest goals per game rate of 0.79 (the lowest number for the team in the past 13 seasons).

But who could succeed him on Merseyside?
talkSPORT BET have installed David Moyes (4/7) and Jose Mourinho (9/4) as the early frontrunners.
Mourinho, who has previously managed Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham in the Premier League, is currently in Turkey with Fenerbahce.
The Portuguese, 61, guided Friedkin Group-owned Roma to their first major European trophy in the inaugural Europa Conference League final before being relieved of his duties after two-and-a-half years.
In October 2024, Mourinho suggested he is ready to move away from European football when his contract with Fenerbahce expires in 2026.
"I think the best thing I have to do is when I leave Fenerbahce I go to a club that doesn't play UEFA competitions,” Mourinho said. “If any club in England from the bottom of the table needs a coach in two years, I'm ready to go. I don't want to say anything more about it"
Former Goodison Park hero David Moyes was in charge of the Toffees for 11 years and is currently without a job after leaving West Ham United at the end of last season.
And with Graham Potter now installed as Julen Lopetegui's replacement at West Ham, it will be interesting to see if the Scot makes a U-turn having only recently said that he doesn't "want to fight relegation".
"I don't consider myself done yet but I am certainly enjoying some time off," he told BBC Sport. "I don't want to be at the bottom of the league and fighting relegation which I have had a few times, so we will see how things go."
England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley and Everton Under-18 coach Leighton Baines are both available at 5/1, ahead of Brentford's Thomas Frank at 8s.
