KAI HAVERTZ broke down in tears after missing out on the Premier League title on the final day of the season.
The German ensured Arsenal just about held up their end of the bargain by grabbing a dramatic late winner against Everton.
That sealed a 2-1 victory at the Emirates - with the Gunners coming from behind following Idrissa Gueye's deflected free-kick and Takehiro Tomiyasu's neat equaliser.
But Manchester City's 3-1 home win over West Ham secured a fourth title in a row for Pep Guardiola's men.
And the heartbreak for Arsenal was clear to see after their second-placed finish was confirmed.
Havertz went down on his haunches and could not hold back the waterworks as he blubbed up on the Emirates pitch.

The forward then regained his composure to speak to TNT Sports and put his pain into words.
Havertz said: "What can I say? I feel sorry for all the Arsenal fans, for us. We gave our best but it wasn't enough.
"Maybe in two or three months we can say it was a good fight but right now I feel like we deserved more.
"It wasn't enough in the end but we go again next year.

"We showed again great character, they didn't make it easy for us.
"Since the first minute, they just played with the time - every throw, every ball they take time.
"My opinion is that sometimes it's not fair in football but we have to accept that football is hard.
"Hopefully we can go again next year and give Arsenal fans what they need and what they are all here for.
"It's so frustrating - it's tough. Next year we'll be an even better team and give everything."
Plenty of fans piled in with messages of sympathy and support for the former Chelsea man.
