A TEENAGER has been arrested after a 16-year-old boy died at a seaside amusement park.
Cops said Taha Soomro - who has been pictured by cops - died after suffering a "medical episode" at Barry Island Pleasure Park on Friday night.
And have now confirmed, as part of the investigation a boy, 15, has been detained on suspicion of assault and is in custody.
A force statement said: "Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause and circumstances of Taha’s death and we would encourage people to avoid speculation on social media."
It added: "Anyone who was in Barry Island Pleasure Park around the time of the incident that may have information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact us.
"Detectives are particularly keen to receive any mobile phone footage."
Taha, of Grangetown, Cardiff, was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday evening - with the site then closed.
Cops said they were called to the park at just before 5pm and the patient was being treated by paramedics.
An air ambulance was also deployed.
A force spokesperson said previously: "We were called just before 5pm this evening, Friday May 23, with a report of a 16-year-old teenage boy suffering a medical episode in Barry Island Pleasure Park.

"Despite efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances of the death.
"Anyone who was in Barry Island Pleasure Park around the time of the incident that may have information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact us by one of the following means quoting 2500163611."
A spokesperson for Barry Island Pleasure Park confirmed earlier that despite yesterday's tragedy the site would reopen today.
The park said in a statement: "Very sad news yesterday all of our team did their best to assist the emergency services but unfortunately the boy suffered a medical emergency and couldn’t be saved.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very sad time. Park remains open this morning 11am as usual."
