Man, 37, arrested over ‘child abduction’ after vanishing with two children ‘known to him’ & driving through seaside town
A 37-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction after a desperate police search.
Police had been searching for a missing car carrying the two children which was spotted in Cornwall yesterday.
Devon and Cornwall Police were contacted at 3.30pm on May 20, when a call came in expressing concern for the welfare of two children.
The pair were seen in a black Nissan Qashqai with an unnamed man, known to the children.
Witnesses spotted the vehicle driving through East Cornwall in the Calstock, Lifton and Bude areas.
It was last seem that same day at 7pm in Kilkhampton.

Police launched a major search to find the missing trio, with a police helicopter joining in on the investigation.
Eventually, the car was found on the morning of May 21 - with all three occupants inside.
The two children have now been safeguarded with family, while the unnamed man, who police said was from 300-miles away in West Yorkshire, has been charged with child abduction.
Devon and Cornwall Police issued a statement after the two children were taken into safety.

The statement read: "Following our appeal and an extensive policing operation to locate a black Nissan Qashqai and its occupants, it has now been located.
"The occupants, who are known to each other, have been found safe by police in North Devon.
"Two of the occupants, both children, have been safeguarded with their family who will receive on going police support.
"We would like to thank members of the public for their help.
"A 37-year-old man, from West Yorkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction.
"The Senior Investigating Officer who led the investigation, DCI Steve Fleetwood would like to personally thank the public for their positive reaction to the initial media appeal for sightings, all of which assisted in bringing this incident to a safe resolution."
