Mystery as body found in reservoir next to Heathrow Airport as cops probe death

An investigation has been launched

THE body of a man has been recovered from a reservoir near Heathrow Airport.

The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

was recovered from King George VI Reservoir in Staines just after 11am on Tuesday May 13 as reported by Surrey Live.

Police were called with reports of a potential body in the water and arrived at the scene at 11am with a heavy police presence reported in the area.

Surrey Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene at 11:15am.

Surrey Police left the scene just before 7pm.

Formal identification is currently underway, as well as an ongoing investigation to confirm how the man entered the water.

It is believed the reservoir is not currently in use.

The reservoir belongs to Thames Water and covers roughly one and a half kilometers.

A Thames Water spokesperson told Surrey Live: “This is a matter for the police and we will not provide any further comment."

The next of kin have been informed.
