Netflix hit series Narcos has put the city back on the map, 23 years after he was shot dead by police

THE hometown of notorious Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar has been branded the "worlds biggest brothel" fuelled by gangs selling virgins as young as NINE.
Medellin in Colombia is where Escobar controlled 80 per cent of America’s cocaine trade making him the seventh-richest person in the world boasting around $30 billion (£22 billion) in the bank.
Narcos, a new Netflix series which follows the rise and fall of the kingpin, has put the violent city back on the map.
It is rumoured that the second season will focus on the pursuit of the Colombian authorities to take down Escobar.
Dubbed the "King of Cocaine", he stopped at nothing to protect his drug trafficking business and was behind the murders of thousands of people, offering bounties on police officers, putting hits on journalists and presidential candidates.
Killed in 1993 by special forces after fleeing over a rooftop, the drug lord’s influence and legacy still prevails today.
La Oficina or "The Office" developed to become one of the biggest criminal organisations in the history of the country.
Now La Oficina is not only involved in drug trafficking but also in extortion, prostitution and human trafficking.
According to , Escobar was known for paying thousands of dollars to sleep with virgins, and tourists still flock to the city looking for cheap drugs and sex.

He said: "A Colombian man once told me that 'if you put a roof over Medellin it would be the biggest brothel in the world'.
"When you are out in the city you realise why he said that. The back streets are full of prostitutes, both male and female. Many of them are incredibly young; smoking bazuco, a Colombian version of 'crack'."
In the city, where prostitution is legal but the age of consent is 18, Galdos found there is a growing demand for virgin girls, some as young as nine.
Speaking to 16-year-old prostitute Daniella, who has been walking the streets of Medellin since the age of 11, she said: "You get Chinese, Brazilians, Europeans. Foreigners come from everywhere, all kinds of men.
"[They are looking for] underage and then more. They don't want girls who are sixteen or seventeen. They want girls of eleven, ten or nine."
Another woman in her thirties revealed that the gang expressed interest in her 14-year-old daughter.
Mum Maruja said: "They said my daughter is a 'candidate' and it was very possible that they would take her away.
"They said 'not now, but your child has been noticed'."
The film also showed the shocking moment men on a scooter approaching teenagers with the intention to groom them.
One of the men said: "If it's possible we'll test them... Give them a few kisses and see how much they pull away.
"We played with their innocence - we're not interested in sentiment, it's not about the heart.
"This is an enterprise, a business."
The reporter also visited the prison where paedophile Paul Brailsford is serving 20 years behind bars after being convicted of having sex with children in Colombia.
He was accused with sleeping with two girls, aged 12 and 14 and possession of child porn.
Brailsford, who was arrested in his hotel room claimed he had no idea the girls were underage.
But when Galdos interviewed the girl, now aged 16, and her mother, she said Brailsford abused her for several months.
Channel 4 said that as a result of its report, several police raids took place in the city to rescue children who are being sexually abused and exploited.
The city's authorities have announced new funding programmes for police to combat child prostitution.
