SAS night vision sight doubles the range of standard Army rifle

AN SAS night vision sight has doubled the range of the Army’s standard issue assault rifle.
Soldiers hit bullseyes at 600 metres, twice the normal daytime range of the SA80, and one hit 17 out of 20 shots on target.
The £55,000 fist-sized Arills sights are used on special ops but may roll out to regular troops.
Corporal Graham Marson, 31, of 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, said: “It turns night into day, it’s incredible.”
Major Henry Bowden added: “It’s an absolute game changer.”
