Wikileaks HACKED after leaking thousands of secret emails from Turkey’s ruling party
Whistleblowing website comes under attack from 'Turkish state power faction'

The whistleblowing website Wikileaks came under "sustained" cyber-attack after leaking a vast cache of secret emails sent by Turkey's ruling party, it has claimed.
Last night, Wikileaks released almost 300,000 private messages sent by President Erdoğan's Justice and Development (AKP) Party.
"Our infrastructure is under sustained attack," Wikileaks wrote before it released the cache on Tuesday.
"We are unsure of the true origin of the attack. The timing suggests a Turkish state power faction or its allies.
"We will prevail & publish."
Attacks continued after the emails were published last night and Wikileaks was blocked in Turkey.
In a statement about the emails, Wikileaks wrote: "The material was obtained a week before the attempted coup. However, WikiLeaks has moved forward its publication schedule in response to the government's post-coup purges.
"We have verified the material and the source, who is not connected, in any way, to the elements behind the attempted coup, or to a rival political party or state."

President Erdogan is still in power and has threatened to kill thousands of plotters that have already been arrested, despite warnings that Turkey will be barred from joining the EU if he goes ahead with the murderous plans.
