Tesla Roadster spied testing on the road – TWO YEARS before £150k sports car will go on sale

TESLA'S incredible £150,000 Roadster 2 has been spotted out on the road - more than two years before it's due to go on sale.
The 250mph electric sports car was seen in Malibu, California over the weekend, being driven by the manufacturer's chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen.
One fan posted images of the sleek red sports car after it pulled up in the middle of the road.
It's not known if the prototype had a problem, but buyers needn't worry as it's got some way to go before you can get behind the wheel.
That's because the second generation Roadster won't officially go on sale until 2020 - although you can already join the waiting list with a £34k deposit.
The exciting sports car stole the show when it was first seen at the Tesla Semi unveiling earlier this year.
Crowds were stunned when Elon Musk promised it would be capable of 0-60mph acceleration in under two seconds, making it the fastest production car in the world.
And the open top - which has a lift off roof to store in the boot and seats four - promises a staggering range of 630 miles from its 200kWh battery packs.
The first 1,000 Founder Series models will cost £189,000, but for what it offers, that doesn't seem too excessive.
"Basic" models will start from £151,000.

The Roadster 2 - which will frighten supercar makers like Ferrari and Porsche - follows the original model that was Tesla's first venture into cars back in 2008.
At the Tesla Semi launch, Musk said: "The point of doing this is to give a hardcore smackdown to gasoline cars.
“Driving a gasoline sports car is going to feel like a steam engine with a side of quiche.”
