Britain’s busiest motorway SHUTS for over 48 hours triggering travel chaos for 1,000s – check exact time it will open

A MAJOR motorway is shut for 48 hours, creating huge traffic disruptions for thousands of motorists.
Two junctions on the M25 will remain partially closed between May 12 and 19.
Junction 28 at the Brook Street roundabout will be partially closed, affecting traffic between the M25 and A12 in Essex.
This closure will remain in place until May 12.
From May 16 there will be another disruption on the vital road, at the M25 Wisley Interchange at Junction 10.
This will be in place until May 19.

National Highways has confirmed the shutdown on their website.
A statement reads: "Closures generally run 8pm-6am unless they are over 12 hours.
"If you are travelling in the early morning, please note that your route may be impacted by closures starting the evening before."
This comes after the M25 ground to a halt at the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire border after three HGVs crashed.

Traffic was held after the smash on the anticlockwise carriageway between junction J17 (Rickmansworth) and J16/M40 and J1A (Uxbridge).
Motorists were backed up in queues stretching on for miles.
Diversion routes were put in place briefly when the carriageway was closed.
Traffic has since been released anticlockwise, but two lanes out of four remain closed for recovery.
The smash happened around ten miles north of Heathrow Airport.
Thames Valley Police said three lorries were involved and there were no significant injuries.
