Yonder - a Skyscanner and Hopper & Hipmunk competitor, is a UK based firm which launches in the UK Android and Apple store this autumn.

The app hopes to save holidaymakers cash and reduce the time spent booking a break - and jet-setters can pick their destination based on how much they are willing to spend.

Founder Fifi Kara said: "We show you hundreds of results starting from return flights to places like Oslo for £10, the same as a lunch at Nandos."

The smartphone and online app invites users to enter their dates of travel, and departure - in exchange for a series of the lowest deals worldwide based on the chosen travel dates.

The website explains: "Flights to Milan can now cost less than lunch, yet booking travel remains a momentous effort.

"At Yonder, we think we finally have a solution. We are Fifi Kara and Jamie Snedden and we are, amongst many things, two people who love to travel.

"One day, whilst juggling 20 internet tabs and multiple flight comparison websites, we realised that the way we book our adventures could be done a whole lot better.

Tips for bagging a cheap holiday this winter

Fly out in January - Flights to many of Europe's top destinations such as Amsterdam, Rome and Prague, can be snapped up for under £50 return in January. Spanish city destinations are also affordable in January and much warmer.

Bag an upgrade in your hotel by taking advantage of quiet destinations over the winter months. A lack of tourists means you are more likely to bag an upgrade to a more premium room or even a suite, for less

Shop around for airline sales - over the Christmas period, lastminute.com offers access to many of the airlines' sales - particularly on long haul flights - so it's a great time to snap up a deal
