A zombie fighter, a US TV host and an actual teacher… this is what the stars of Teachers are up to 15 years after it first hit screens

IT may seem unbelievable, but there once was a time when Keeping Up with the Kardashians and The X Factor weren't the most talked-about shows on telly.
Yes, the near-the-knuckle humour of Teachers - where at least half the scenes took place in a pub - was where it was at in the early Noughties.
Unbelievably thecult Channel 4 TV show is 15 years old.
That means it's almost two decades since you were glued to your screen, worried in case you missed the random appearance of a donkey in a room.
That was an actual thing in Teachers - sometimes they even switched it up by adding in lions, sheep or a penguin too.
But enough of that, this is a show that spawned way more big stars than you realise. Don't believe it? Read on to find out what they're up to now...
Andrew Lincoln
Andrew is the most recognisable because he had the biggest part of the show.
He came off the back of This Life, another mega show of the time, and in teachers he was Simon. The great thing about the character was he was just like us - a normal guy who hated his job and would do pretty much anything to get out of working.
Not the case in real life, as he's gone on to great things.
The biggest has to be his starring role in major US TV show The Walking Dead, where he's been battling zombies since 2010.
Shaun Evans
Shaun was a foreign language teacher called JP who the others thought was a student when he first showed up.
He really did look young too, as this was one of his first big roles. Also his character was notable for being gay, which Simon assured everyone he was OK with but then sort of blew it when he had a bit of an issue sharing a sofa with JP.
Nowadays you'll recognise him from Endeavour, where he plays the young Morse.
Before that he was in legal drama Silk with Maxine Peake, and Boy A.
James Corden
Ah, look how young little James looks!
Teachers was one of his first big roles where he played swotty student Jeremy.
James is probably the biggest star of the bunch these days.
He shot to nationwide fame in Gavin & Stacey before appearing in Hollywood movies such as Into the Woods with Meryl Streep and Begin Again with Keira Knightley.
He's now in America hosting the hugely popular Late Late Show.
Adrian Bower
Adrian was PE teacher Brian, who everyone loved because true to PE teacher form he was pretty much never seen out of a tracksuit.
Although his character was killed off it wasn't the end of Adrian's career. He's since starred in Mount Pleasant and A Touch of Cloth.
Navin Chowdhry
Navin was Kurt, who was Brian's best friends.
That makes it pretty fitting that they were killed off together, then the actors both went on to be in A Touch Of Cloth.
More recently he was in the BBC's Doctor Foster alongside Suranne Jones.
Raquel Cassidy
She was Simon's best pal Susan, who viewers loved for her withering sarcasm.
Since the show she's done loads of stuff, including appearing in Downton Abbey, Vera and Jonathan Creek.
Oh, and A Touch of Cloth too.
Ursula Holden Gill
You have to remember Ursula's character Carol... the ditzy school secretary who followed the headteacher around like a lost little lamb.
She got a role in Emmerdale after the show, but then decided acting wasn't for her and decided to retrain as, you've guessed it, a teacher.
RELATED STORIES
Nina Sosanya
If you were into Teachers, you'll definitely remember Nina's character Jenny.
She was the straight-talking one who Simon couldn't get enough of, but sadly she couldn't care less about him... or could she?
The thing with Nina is it's probably easier to list what she hasn't been in.
Her career has been huge and has included a stint on Waterloo Road (obviously she loved the teacher scenario), a part in Last Tango in Halifax and a recently turn on Marcella.
Tamzin Malleson
Tamzin was Penny, who joined the show in the second of its four seasons.
She was a newly qualified teacher who most of the others thought was pretty rubbish. It didn't help that she cried a lot.
Since Teachers Tamzin has been on a few different programmes, including A Touch of Frost and Midsomer Murders.
James Lance
Another one who hit screen in series two, James stole the thunder from Simon as hot English teacher Matt. Kurt and Brian got obsessed with his wife, too.
He's pretty well known for his comedy work these days, and has been in I'm Alan Partridge, Toast of London and Mount Pleasant.
Special mention to his turn in the MoneySupermarket ads as well. Plus he's voiced commercials for Maybelline and the AA.
Vicky Hall
Vicky hotfooted it from her time on Byker Grove to Teachers for the third season.
Can't place biology teacher Lindsay? She loved burping and was so good at downing pints Brian thought he was in love with her... apart from he didn't like her size. Awkward.
Doesn't look like Vicky cared about the storyline though, as she's gone on to great things including roles in Derek, Casualty and So Awkward.
Mathew Horne
He didn't jump on the Teachers train until series four, where he played Ben Birket.
Poor Ben usually didn't get the joke, which was good because he tended to be the butt of it.
Who's laughing now though? Probably Mathew, who you'll recognise from Gavin & Stacey and Bad Education, among others.
Kara Tointon
Back when nose rings were edgy rather than hipster, Kara was in Teachers as Pauline.
The problem with Pauline was she was just a bit too sexy for the teachers to handle... in what's probably another comedy storyline which wouldn't go down so well these days.
She went on to appear in EastEnders and more recently Mr Selfridge. She also won the 2010 series of Strictly Come Dancing
