SANTA BABY

Give Mrs Claus a run for her money in these little red dresses this Christmas

Move over LBD, it's all about shocking in scarlet right now

IT'S no secret that red is an attention-grabbing colour. The bold scarlet hue symbolises, danger, love, heat, seduction and, of course, Christmas.

So if there is one time of the year to put your LBD to one side, it's now.

Looking that special something to wear to Christmas parties and events? Always opt for the LRD (that's little red dress, if you hadn't guessed).

Some of the most memorable red carpet looks have been, well, red.

Selena Gomez wowed the crowds at the Rudderless premiere back in 2014 in a demure Dior dress - the A-line cut balanced the thigh-skimming length perfectly. She styled it with a sleek chignon for an elegant finish.

In September,  Hailey Baldwin opted for a more risque look in this bodycon latex number. She amped up the attitude with oversized hoops and a pair of pointy pumps.

In fact, it seems that a lot of celebrities are loving the latex trend at the moment.  Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson recently posted a picture of herself wearing this skintight mini dress on Instagram. (Scroll down to find out where she got it from.)

The LRD is a tricky tend to master but when done right, a sultry scarlet shade is as festive as it gets.

For a ladylike look opt for lustrous satin and plush velvet. Or, go for shocking high-shine fabrics and sequins to really draw attention to your dress this Christmas.
