Can the £300 vitamin injection cure your hangover? We test remedies for the morning after the night before
From hair of the dog, sweaty workouts and greasy fry up's – we all have our own hangover fix

FRY-up? Hair of the dog? Or a sweaty workout? We all have our hangover fix. But this year there is a new remedy – a £300 injection.
Designed to revive the liver and boost energy, it contains antioxidant glutathione which zaps toxins in the blood.
But can it work? Here, JENNY FRANCIS tests this and other hangover cures and rates them out of five.
Vitamin injection
A NEEDLE may be the last thing you fancy. But popular with celebs, the Glutathione Wellness Injection (see ) claims to work wonders – almost immediately.
At £300, it should. And after the jab I feel nothing – but ten minutes later my tiredness lifts. My skin looks brighter and I’ve lost the circles under my eyes.
This can help throughout party season by boosting the immune system and liver.
But I would rather hang on to the money.

Sleep it off
TRICKY if at work – but good for days off. Having a long nap can help you re-energise and get your brain working.
This is the most appealing of the cures I’ve tried. Nodding off with a headache isn’t easy, but after a two- hour nap I feel much more human.
I drink some water, as my mouth is a bit dry, but have my appetite back and might now have the energy to change out of those PJs.

Exercise
THIS takes a big effort but I grab some weights and, after 25 minutes of squats, bicep curls, burpees and mountain-climbers, feel re-energised and in a far better mood.
Well, exercise does trigger feelgood endorphin hormones.
Sadly, it won’t erase the effects of booze – or get rid of those drunken pics on Instagram – but it has left me feeling a lot more able to face the day.

Hair of the dog
TRY a tipple you did not drink the night before – it may be more tempting.
I go traditional with a Bloody Mary – tomato juice, vodka, Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce. My sensitive stomach isn’t sure. But it goes down well, I sink another and I feel spritely.
Perhaps unsurprising as I’m numbing pain with alcohol and getting a blood-sugar spike – and just a few hours later I crash again.

Bouillon soup
NOT so appetising, this, although suggested online by the NHS.
It apparently restores depleted vitamins and minerals – and is easy for a fragile stomach to digest.
I’m not so sure. Just one whiff of the this broth makes me feel worse. I persevere but, with every sip, feel queasy. Once I’ve finished I don’t feel any better – and rush to brush my teeth to banish the taste.

Greasy fry-up
A GREAT staple of British culture, this hangover fix is my usual go-to strategy. I happily dig into sausages, bacon, eggs, baked beans and hash browns.
I’ve always believed the science that hangovers are all about low blood sugar, so some carbs and fried meat will help.
As always, it works while I’m eating – but five minutes later I feel full, sick and want my mum.
