My school lunch hack keeps my kids’ food warm for hours – fans say it’s great for packing chicken nuggets and pizza

A MOM has shared the trick she uses to keep her kids' food toasty hours after she packs them.

The hack prevents her homemade grilled cheese sandwiches from getting cold.

The mom () shared the food hack in a viral TikTok, which has since amassed over 1.1 million views.

"Here is the best school lunch hack for grilled cheese!" she said.

She prepared her grilled cheese sandwiches as she would normally and took the pieces off the skillet.

After letting the toast cool off, she proceeded to cut the bread into strips.

To keep it warm for as long as possible, she added the slices into a thermos.

Three hours after preparing the grilled cheeses, they were still warm and ready to eat.

Viewers took to the comments to thank her for her clever trick.

"What? Omg, okay. Let's ignore that I'm 39 and going out to buy a thermos," said one commenter,

"Just to take grilled cheese for lunch."

"That's genius!" said another.

A few creative viewers added tips to take the hack a step further.

"A good tip is filling the thermos with boiling water beforehand and letting it sit there to keep the thermos hot!" said one.

"I heard if you put paper towels inside the thermos, it won't come out soggy either!" added another.
