‘What in the Harry Potter is this?’ people gasp as woman turns her ‘Monica cupboard’ into the ‘world’s smallest office’

A WOMAN has left people stunned after showing how she turned her "Monica cupboard" into the "world's smallest office".
Bessie explained that she "didn't have anywhere else" to set up a desk, and was "sick of working from my dining table".
So she decided to turn the cupboard - which is less than a metre squared - into a home office.
In a on TikTok, Bessie showed how the cupboard looked beforehand, as it was stuffed with make-up, nail varnishes and other clutter.
And she referenced the Friends episode where Monica, who is famously clean and tidy, revealed she had a cupboard full of mess.
"Could this possibly be the world’s smallest office?" Bessie captioned the video.
"Well, I’m claiming it!
"Ok… so you’re probably wondering why I decided to turn my Monica cupboard into the SMALLEST office you ever did see but the simple answer is…. I didn’t have anywhere else!
"I was sick of working from my dining table so decided to transform this cupboard it’s a beautiful (though tiny!) working from home space!"
Bessie began the room transformation by clearing out the cupboard, removing the contents and the cabinets inside.
She then cut some MDF into a semi-circle shape to add to the entrance way, before painting everything.
Next up, she wallpapered the back room, before adding in a desk, light, gold accessories and a desk chair.
"Now at the end of the the working day I can close the door and leave work at work," she concluded.
And people in the comments section were quick to praise her for the transformation, with one writing: "What in the Harry Potter is this?!"
"This is so cute but I’d defo roll back and off the side!" another laughed.
With Bessie replying: "I know I thought this too!
"There is a lip on the edge though and I’m gonna add another piece a bit higher just to be sure."
"I have this exact cupboard and need inspo!!!" a third wrote.
Charlotte Reddington and Gemma Lilly have over 15 years experience decluttering and organising celebrity homes...
"It may sound a little ruthless but a one in, one out rule in your home and wardrobe can be effective to avoid over accumulating items in your home," they said.
"It can also make you more mindful about the purchases you are making."
"In any space, however big or small – from a utility room to your make-up box - organising items by category is the perfect way to keeping super organised," they said.
"This allows you to know exactly where everything is and what you’ve got.
"Plus, it will make it super easy for the rest of the household to put away and keep tidy."
"Storage is key, especially if space is an issue in the home or if the room is used for items like storing toys for children," they said.
"Consider decorative storage baskets, side boards with plenty of storage or even a media wall or bookshelves with doors."
"Can you please give me some tips on how you did this/ cost?
"How did you know if it could be weight bearing or not?"
Bessie then answered all the questions as she responded: "So I checked with the house builder but then also cut a big hole in the plasterboard so I could look right in myself to check and make sure (sounds dramatic but it’s easily patched back up).
"The desk I already had to top from an old project so I bought tall desk legs off Amazon and fit them myself.
IF you're looking to transform a cupboard that isn't floor level, it's important to check its load bearing first.
Check if there are joists underneath the flooring to do so.
And if you're unsure, get the advice of a builder before you start undertaking any DIY work.
"The chair is Beliani and the shelves are from JYSK (£5 in the sale) and I just cut them."
She also paid an electrician £80 to put in the light and a double socket.
"Bargain for what he did really but this was probs the biggest cost," Bessie, who also boasts an impressive following on , added.
"The carpet was an off cut and free."
