IT'S SAFE to say Paris Fury is smitten with her two-time heavyweight boxing champ husband Tyson Fury after nearly a decade of marriage and welcoming six children.

Yet, Paris has revealed in her new memoir that the couple went through a shock split, albeit brief, in the lead up to their wedding day.

Childhood sweethearts, the pair tied the knot shortly before Paris turned 19 years old, but there almost wasn't a wedding after she called things off just months earlier.

In her book, Love and Fury, released earlier this month, Paris reveals that Tyson had their big day all planned out. He was hoping to fight at the European Championships, then compete for Great Britain at the Beijing Olympics and then he wanted himself and Paris to tie the knot.

Paris threw herself into planning a November wedding, as she'd always dreamed of a winter wedding, but recalled how their "schedule was thrown into the air" when Tyson failed to secure his spot at the Olympics.

Another fighter was chosen and with his summer now wide open, Tyson wanted to bring the pair's wedding, despite it already being booked, forward by a few months.

"My fiancé clearly didn’t understand the amount of planning and organisation that went into a wedding. I was beginning to realise how incredibly impulsive he was, the sort of person who lived life in the moment and liked to make decisions on the hoof," Paris writes.

"In Tyson’s world, our big day could be rescheduled on a whim, just like one of his boxing matches. I was having none of it, though, and refused point blank to change the date."

The couple clashed over their wedding date, with both standing their ground - Tyson wanting a summer wedding and Paris wanting to keep the original date.

In the end, the arguments became too much and she decided to call the wedding off completely, telling Tyson that their relationship was over.

She recalls: "As tensions simmered between us, I soon found myself reaching breaking point. It was one conflict after another and after an ugly slanging match with him outside Mam's house, I decided to call time on the wedding and our relationship.

"He thought I was joking and when I dropped the big bombshell, then he realised I was deadly serious."

"I simply couldn't take any more, I told him," Paris reveals. "As far as I was concerned, we were done. Our courtship was over."

For the first six weeks after their break up, the couple - who first got together when Paris was 16 - stayed clear of each other.

Within a few months, Tyson went on a lads' holiday to Ibiza, with a scorned Paris taking his trip as confirmation there was no coming back from the split.

However, on Tyson's return home, she received an emotional text from him, telling her that he had never wanted them to split up.

"He sent me an emotionally-charged text. He told me he couldn’t believe I’d abandoned our relationship so easily, and he couldn’t bear the thought
of me meeting somebody else," Paris says.

"He ended the message by warning me that if I ever got married, he’d turn up to the church to halt the ceremony. I was furious. 'You creep,' I said to myself as I deleted the message. Talk about having your cake and eating it. How dare you."

Persistent, Tyson continued his attempts to win Paris back and finally succeeded when the pair crossed paths at the races.

Deciding to go ahead with their wedding and get their relationship back on track, Paris - who had asked her mother Lynda to cancel their wedding plans because she "couldn't face it - called up her mum to rebook the couple's venue.

Predicting they would "patch things up" and rekindle, Paris' mum never cancelled the venue and their November date was still set in stone.

That November, Tyson and Paris tied the knot during a traditionally religious ceremony at St Peter-In-Chains Roman Catholic Church in Doncaster in front of 300 friends and family.

Their wedding day wasn't without a hiccup, though, as Paris had trusted Tyson to book their hotel for the night, only to find out he hadn't bothered.

"Imagine my surprise when my husband led me through the entrance of a town centre hotel, strode up to the reception, rang the bell and asked the girl at the desk if he could reserve a room for the night," Paris writes.

"I couldn’t believe what I was hearing."

Over 10 years later, however, the married couple are still going strong and are now the proud parents of six children - Paris and Tyson welcomed their youngest daughter Athena in August.

They also share sons Prince John James, nine, Prince Tyson II, four, Prince Adonis, two, and daughters Venezuela, 12, and Valencia, three.
