THIS weekend saw the 72nd Tony Awards take place at Radio City Hall in New York.
It was hosted by Josh Grobin and Sara Bareilles - here's a list of the winners and some highlights from America's top theatre gongs.
Glenda Jackson - Best Performance by a Lead Actress (play)
The 82-year-old British actress took home the award for best actress for her turn in Edward Albee's Three Tall Women.
It was her third role after a 25-year break from the stage.
Glenda, a former Labour politician, also has two Academy Awards under her belt as well as an Emmy.
Three Tall Women is a 1994 Pulitzer-winning play following the journeys of three women, A, B and C - all variations of the same person during different times in her life.
Andrew Garfield - Best Performance by a Lead Actor (play)
Andrew won best actor for his role in Angels in America - a play about Aids and homosexuality in eighties America.
The 34-year-old gave an impassioned speech about the Trump administration and dedicated his award to the LGBTQ community.
Andrew also referenced a recent High Court ruling about a baker who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same sex couple.
He said: “We all belong, so let’s just bake a cake for everyone who wants a cake to be baked!”
The Band's Visit - 10 awards including Best Musical
The politically charged musical, based on the 1997 book, scooped 10 awards.
It tells the story of an Egyptian police band that ends up stranded in the Israeli desert and how the two groups get on.
The show took home Best Performance by a Lead Actor - Musical (Tony Shalhoub) and Best Performance for a Lead Actress - Musical (Katrina Lenk) among others.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - six awards including Best Play
The British play, that recently transferred to Broadway, took home six gongs including the coveted Best Play award.
It also won Best Direction.
Cursed Child has been widely praised for its "extraordinary levels of stagecraft" and is a constant sell out.
Robert De Nero's anti-Trump rant
The outspoken actor issued a swear-filled rant about President Trump during the live broadcast while he was introducing Bruce Springsteen.
De Nero said: "It's no longer down with Trump. It's f--- Trump."
He urged the audience to vote in November and lauded Springsteen for his own political commitment.
