The 35-year-old has suffered from flare-ups for years – which result in red patches on her skin – but only now has she come to terms with what she describes as her "biggest flaw".

Writing on her website KimKardashianWest.com, she told fans: “I don't even really try to cover it that much anymore.

“Sometimes I just feel like it's my big flaw and everyone knows about it, so why cover it?”

The mum of two, who inherited the condition from her mum Kris Jenner, was first diagnosed back in 2010.

Kim continued on her website: “Everyone with psoriasis has different symptoms; sometimes the rashes are itchy, sometimes they're flaky. Mine flares up from time to time for different reasons.

“I'm always hoping for a cure, of course, but in the meantime, I'm learning to just accept it as part of who I am.”

There is no specific cure for the condition but Kim, like other suffers, has learnt how to keep it in check through her diet and she applies a cortisone cream every evening.

She also gets cortisone shots in her bum every few years – which has led to people believing she has bum implants, because after the first one she was left with a dent in her derriere.

Kim has spoken openly about the condition for years and in the past she has revealed she always tells people all about it when she goes on shoots to avoid feeling uncomfortable.

What is psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes red, flaky patches of skin – which normally appear on the elbows, knees, scalp or lower back.

It is a long-lasting disease which usually develops in adults under 35 years old but can affect you at any age.

The severity of it varies from person to person – and for some it can have a major impact on their life while for others it is a minor irritation.

There is no cure for psoriasis, however various treatments can improve the symptoms.

She said: “I have psoriasis, there is nothing I can do about it so there is no reason why I should feel uncomfortable.

“So to make myself feel better I lay out all my insecurities before we start a shoot in the hope that no one will be focused on that.”

Kim is not the only celeb to have psoriasis – others include Cara Delevingne and LeAnn Rimes.
