Did Preston from the Ordinary Boys just suffer the most awkward date ever on First Dates?
Songwriter was looking for love after splitting from Chantelle Houghton nine years ago
ORDINARY Boys star Preston returned to our screens tonight - and had one of the most awkward First Dates the hit Channel 4 show has ever seen.
The 34-year-old songwriter, real name Sam Preston, used to be married to Chantelle Houghton after they appeared together on Celebrity Big Brother.
However, their union wasn't set to last and they divorced only ten months later.
He's been single for the nine years since.
Talking to the First Dates camera, Preston said: "Big Brother is such an intense thing to do. It's like we'd been through a war together.
"It was what ultimately doomed us because it was just too much."
The star appeared on the celeb version of the hit dating show and said that he liked brunettes.
He didn't get off to a great start when the waiter asked: "Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you marry the last girl you met on reality TV?"

His date with South African stunner Nicole - who said he was looking for a boy who had "criminal chique" - as they failed to find anything in common with each other.
Even Preston's name-dropping was stopped in his tracks as Nicole announced she didn't own a TV.
Her apparent lack of knowledge of celebrity culture deterred Preston, and after that the date went downhill.
Fans were then left reeling as the awkward date continued and covered topics such as gender politics and modern day feminism.
Later on, as they were both talked about their date, Nicole said: "On a romantic level we just didn't quite click."
He added: "We're very different people, and that's fine."
Before the show aired, Preston took to Twitter to warn of the upcoming cringe factor, posting a video of his song Awkward.
Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt also had a date that didn't go as planned on tonight's episode.
At one point Tommy, an Irish MMA fighter, became so desperate to impress he tried to show her a card trick.
It didn't work.
However just a week later she met her current beau, and now thinks he is "the one".
