Lucy Fallon ‘makes her £100k Coronation Street salary back in just ten mins’ work a week she cashes in with Insta ads’

CORONATION Street star Lucy Fallon is able to earn the equivalent of her soap salary for just ten minutes of work a WEEK, claim insiders.

The 24-year-old was reportedly paid around £100,000-a-year for her role as Bethany Platt.

She left the show this week after starring in it for five years, so she’s been able to turn her back on the punishing schedule filming six episodes a week and instead rake in the cash from social media.

Lucy is in demand to plug products on Instagram and can command around £2,000-a-post for sharing goods with her 495,000 followers, say insiders.

Recent posts include ones on behalf of a bedding firm, a hairdresser and fashion company InTheStyle.

But an industry fixer has warned that Lucy should be careful not to dilute her appeal and profile by agreeing to every deal she is offered.

The insider said: “The trick is turning down things as well as saying yes. She doesn’t want to agree to everything because the bigger firms will run a mile if she starts doing teeth whitening ads or ones for food supplements.

“That way the money can go on quite dramatically and she could be left scrambling for £150 like a desperate former reality star.

“Lucy is a very likeable person and she’s beautiful, sassy and fun, so with the right handling she’ll make far more than her Corrie salary from sponsored content.

“She only needs to be snapped with a product once a week and post the pictures and she’s on the same cash ITV were paying her - only for a few minutes' work.”

Lucy's reps have been approached for comment.

Until recently Corrie bosses had a blanket ban on stars plugging products – leading to reprimands and even fines.

But after a recent exodus of stars like Lucy, Katie McGlynn and Catherine Tyldesley and they have relaxed the rules and actors must first seek permission.

Last year Jack P. Shepherd who plays David Platt, was fined for promoting a hair transplant on Instagram.

A Corrie source said: "It had been a long-standing bone of contention.

"The cast have been told they can now plug stuff they've been gifted or got a discount on - but they need to run things past bosses first.”

Stars are still banned from endorsements which would compromise the show's existing commercial tie-ups.
