Jermain Defoe in emotional tribute to Bradley Lowery two years on from his death after dedicating Rangers goal to best pal

JERMAIN DEFOE paid tribute to his late friend Bradley Lowery yesterday after scoring on the second anniversary of his tragic passing.
The youngster passed away two years ago to the day after a heart-wrenching battle with cancer.
Bradley suffered from the rare Neuroblastoma form of the disease, and his friendship with the striker captured the hearts of the nation.
Defoe scored a tap-in during Rangers' 5-0 pre-season win over Oxford United at Ibrox on Sunday.
And he paid tribute to Bradley when he did so.
Defoe tweeted: "Proud to get a goal today. Can't believe it's been two years. That one was for you, little man."
The striker first met Bradley when he was at Sunderland and he had him as his personal mascot when playing for England against Lithuania in a 2017 World Cup qualifier.

Gemma said: "It helps me seeing other families getting the treatment that Bradley could have had.

"I don’t want them to go through what I did.
"It’s what Bradley would have wanted too. He would say it’s the right thing to do. I’m proud and he’d be proud.
"That’s why I do it — for the children and for him."
