Horrific moment Las Vegas shooter peppered gig crowd near Mandalay Bay Casino with hundreds of bullets

THIS is the horrifying moment a gunman sprayed hundreds of bullets into a music festival crowd from a hotel balcony in Las Vegas.
Footage taken at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival captures utter panic among concert goers as at least four sustained bursts of automatic gunfire ring out, forcing terrified by-standers to dive for cover.
At least 50 people have been confirmed dead and more than 200 have been injured.
The clip shows the 40,000 strong crowd running away from the stage after a burst of gunfire.
Someone can be seen lying on the ground with someone standing over them as a chilling silence descends on the scene.
This is broken by a second burst of fire ringing out and the remaining spectators collectively duck for cover as bullets fizz and whizz by.
A nightmarish howl then erupts from the pandemonium and a man can be seen fleeing with a child.
Then there is a third round of gunfire - with an echo effect adding to the confusion because it masks the direction of fire.
In another video, a woman filming the chaos says: "This is bullsh***. People are on the ground. Security is out.
"S*** just got real kids."
Police have confirmed one suspect was "down".
Dozens of patrol vehicles descended on the Strip after authorities received reports of an active shooter near the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
Authorities shut down part of the Las Vegas Strip and Interstate 15.
A concert-goer says he heard what sounded like fireworks while he was watching Jason Aldean's performance.
Thirty-six-year-old Kodiak Yazzi said the music stopped temporarily and started up again before another round of pops sent the performers ducking for cover and fleeing the stage.
As the 40,000 fans in the crowd began to flee, Yazzi took cover and said he saw flashes of light coming from the Mandalay Bay hotel tower high above.
The bursts of pops would start and stop for more than five minutes.
He says he saw dozens of ambulances as he ran for safety.
He later got a Lyft driver to take him home to suburban Henderson.
Brit tourist Andy Williamson and pro golfer Michael Seiden were at the concert, with the Foreign Office saying it was in contact with authorities in Las Vegas, and was "ready to help" any Brits affected.
Concert-goers described how they initially thought the gunshots were fireworks or a problem with equipment near the stage.
Two unnamed witnesses were in a VIP area the furthest from the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
The man said: “It was clip after clip after clip, bullets were flying everywhere, everybody running. It was really, really bad.
"We were the furthest VIP stage away from Mandalay Bay and they were ricocheting everywhere where we were.
"They were firing from somewhere high and they were unloading clip after clip after clip.”
Nevada has some of the least stringent gun laws in the United States.
People are allowed to carry weapons and do not have to register themselves as a gun-owner.
Background checks are done when people buy guns, but they are also allowed to sell them privately.
The state does not ban assault weapons, which are automatic or semi-automatic firearms.
And there are no limits on buying ammunition there.
